Greensboro's Super G Mart headed to Charlotte

International foods retailer Super G Mart, which has a popular store in western Greensboro's international shopping center Fanta City, is opening a store in southeast Charlotte in the former Bi-Lo store at Independence Square. This comes as the success of similar food retailers have opened on this side of town, such as Compare Foods which took over the former Harris Teeter a couple miles north on Independence Boulevard. As the east side of Charlotte's population changes, grocery stores realize they must cater to the market that they serve.

Check out photos and more information of Greensboro's Super G Mart via the Greensboro News & Record.

Nice to hear about an independent chain growing, especially in this economy.

they're ok, they just sell cheap some times imitation products. produce and meat fish will be cheap but for lesser quality. Its ok. not like hmart or assi mart in bigger cities. G mart is just stealing customers from other independent shops in the area kinda like walmart but not in a good way. kinda failed in greensboro, not for the area anyways.

My Husband bought Chicken QT Legs yesterday at Super G Mart Store. He put it in our freezer and the next day when I was getting something out of the freezer to cook for dinner, I called for him to come over here because it was something that he bought yesterday that was stinking real bad. We found the meat and it was the Chicken QT Legs that he bought.Do not buy the Meat.

The quality at the Super G in Charlotte far surpasses the Harris Teeters and other faux High End grocers. Prices are great.

We luv this place! Most produce is better than chain grocery stores, the variety of groceries is immense, and our family enjoys goung there hungry. We sit down and eat from their 2 vendors and enjoy that immensly! We have also enjoyed the well priced fresh salmon and shrimp. Our family is definitely hooked on this place! -lisa
